We had such an amazing time at our inaugural WA conference. At this stage we don’t know when the next WA conference will be – but please stay in touch via the newsletter.
Simplicity is a call to our mother-heart to focus on what is important.
- The Mum Heart Conference is a weekend conference to encourage the hearts of Christian homeschool mums
- The conference price ($135.00) covers conference attendance, morning and afternoon tea and lunch on Saturday, plus morning tea on Sunday
- You will be able to indicate dietary requirements in the registration process
- Conference covers one mum only. No children except young babies. No child minding facilities are available
- Evening meals, accommodation and transport are not included in this price
- Check out #mumheartconference
The Conference will be held at Sebel Mandurah – a short drive from Perth, overlooking the Mandurah Estuary will be a calm and relaxing place for us to connect and recharge.
Sebel, 1 Marco Polo Dr, Mandurah
Mandurah is a short drive from Perth. There is free parking for conference attendees.
If you are flying into Perth, there is a shuttle bus to Mandurah though we can organize a carpool for you with another attendee.
Once you have bought your ticket you will be invited to join a closed Facebook group for attendees only. This will be the place to organize a car pool and a roommate (see Accommodation notes)
Book your accommodation – as soon as you can!
We have arranged last year’s rates for the Mum Heart Conference WA attendees. Ask for the Mum Heart Conference rates when you make your reservations.
Single or Twin Share room $169/night
A third guest can be added on a rollaway or sofa bed for additional $50 per night.
Since accommodation is not covered by conference ticket, we encourage you to book as soon as you can. If you are coming with a friend, please only one of you book accommodation. If you need a roommate, checkout our conference attendees closed Facebook before you book a room.
Call Sebel on (08) 95128300
Though staying on location adds to the community feel for the weekend, there are other accommodations nearby, though no conference rates have been organized.

Conference desk will open 6.30 Friday night, and 8.00 Saturday morning.

Programme Quick Outline:
Friday night: Social, 7.00pm
Saturday 8.30am till 9.00pm
Sunday 8.30am till 12.30pm
What do I do about meals?
You will need to organize and pay for your own evening meals and breakfasts.
Breakfast is available at the Sebel at $22 but you MUST book with them ahead of time. If you are not staying with Sebel, you may still join the breakfast crew but once again you MUST book with Sebel to let them know numbers. Call Sebel (08) 95128300
Dinner – there are cafes in walking distance where you will be able to enjoy dinner. We hope you’ll join up with a few other mums and have dinner together so that no one is left by themselves.
Will I need cash
You will need to cover the following costs:
- Friday night Early Bird social, if you choose to come
- Saturday & Sunday Breakfast
- Saturday Dinner
- Key speakers will have a few resources – cash only.
Cash/Card will be normal commercial standards.
I am coming on my own and need a roommate. How do I book?
Once you have purchased your ticket you will be invited to join the 2017 Mum Heart WA attendees Facebook Page (closed group). From there you can try to link up with other mums who want to share accommodation. This has worked well with the conferences over East. If you don’t have Facebook we can put the details on Facebook for you and try to connect you via email.
I will have a baby, can I still come?
Yes, you are most welcome to come and bring your breastfeeding/bottlefeeding baby with you, however there will not be childcare available. Mothers with babies will be asked to sit at a table close to a door for quick exit as to not disturb others learning.
Can my dietary requirements be catered for?
Yes, they can. Once you have purchased your ticket, you will be given an opportunity to indicate your needs on the Registration form.
I can't make the whole conference. Is there a discount?
We are sorry but we cannot give day only discounts. Conference ticket is for the whole conference.
Will there be any vendors?
There will be no vendors selling homeschool materials though key speakers will have a few resources – cash only.
What is happening Friday night?
Friday night is an early bird social. If you want to be in Mandurah for the Friday night we will get together at the Sebel foyer and walk down to the local café for coffee and cake. This will be a great time to get to know the team and other mums.
If you want to join in, you will be able to let us know on the Registration form, and then meet at 6.45pm ready to leave at 7.00pm
Do I need to stay in Mandurah?
The benefit of staying in Mandurah for the weekend is that you get a weekend of relaxing, and catching up with like-hearted women. You will also be able to participate in the evening activities and make the most of meal times (breakfast and dinner) to connect with other conference attendees.
There is an Early Bird Social on Friday night for anyone who is in Mandurah Friday night. At 7.00pm we will walk from the Sebel to a local café for a social time together.
Saturday night session will be casual but informative. We are still working on the details but hope to put together an evening of gleaning from older homeschool mums.
You don’t need to stay at the Sebel, there are other accommodation options close by. See accommodation details.
Can my family come?
Though the conference is only for Mum, your family can come and enjoy the location while you attend the conference. You can book accommodation for your family and let them enjoy time together in Mandurah – there is lots to do.
Check out this site as a starting place: http://www.visitpeel.com.au/
Will there be any free time?
All sessions are optional, so you can take a walk along the beach or take a nap anytime. Though this is a weekend away and we hope you go home refreshed it is also a time to learn so we encourage you to make the most of every session when you can.
Can I buy a ticket at the door?
No, unfortunately the Sebel needs confirmation of numbers so ticket sales will close 10th June. There will be no door sales.
What if I change my mind, or can't come in the end?
Unfortunately, due to contracts with the Sebel, we cannot offer a refund after 10th June.
